Final Costume Fail

The most classic Halloween costume of all time -- the pumpkin.  This one was the first costume I bought for Juliet.  Just didn't measure up to the cuteness factor.  "I'm sorry, you're out.  Auf weidersehen"

Halloween: Costume Fail

Getting ready for Halloween is tough--choosing the right costume and making sure everyone is happy and cute.  This year, we asked Matty early on what he wanted to be for Halloween.  He emphatically chose "monkey!!".  I found a super cute monkey costume and we were all set.  Well, until of course, as the countdown to candy foraging was winding down, he started saying he was going to be batman.  Uh oh.  We'll see how this goes.  One thing is sure--he is going to be a fantastic looking monkey.  I hope we can also make him a very happy monkey, too!

Juliet was more of a problem.  She did not tell us what she wanted to be, so I tried out several costumes on her before settling on "the one". For your amusement, we will post the rejected costumes here as we lead up to Halloween.

Starting with:  the pink bunny.  I thought it was really cute, but it was TOO TOO TOO BIG and a little ridiculous.  :-)  "Pink Bunny, the tribe has spoken"

**Juliet -- 6 MONTH MILESTONE Alert **

Juliet had her 6 month check up today and is growing like crazy!!  Here are her current stats:

Weight:  14 lb 4 oz

Height:  25 1/4 in

She has jumped up to the HUGE 25th Percentile for both height and weight with her gain of 3 lb 7 oz and 3 inches!!  Wow!

She absolutely loves to eat (see huge gains above) and gets to eat all stage 1 and stage 2 baby foods now!  Juliet is also an expert at sitting up and rolling over.  She is still trying to figure out how to crawl--she is very motivated to follow her cool older brother around the house! 

Hayride

The hayride started out fine, but then came all of the bumps and noises and general uncertainty.  Matty needed some extra support...

Flower Power

Went to a nearby farm for some pumpkin picking and fall fun.  We had to take pictures at the flower cut out....

Matty and the Toilet Paper

The joys of potty training.  Matty is doing awesome--really, he is.  He was doing his business this morning and we hear, "I buckled my seat belt!".  Toilet paper is just too tempting not to unravel...

Bounce Happy

Juliet loves her bath.  She has a great time splashing around.

 

Juliet Gathers No Moss

Juliet has been able to roll over for awhile, but would only do it sporadically.  Just a few days ago, she decided that whenever you set her down on her back, she will immediately roll over.  Now, when she wakes up from her nap or in the morning, she also flips over onto her tummy.  She's very proud of herself!

We didn't need to go over the river and through the woods, but we did need to go across a covered, one-lane bridge to get to Grandma's house!

Matty and the Model T

Matty got to sit in a 1927 Model T Ford.  He wanted to turn it on, so he could drive it.  He had to settle for the honking the horn. 

Daddy's Helper

Matty was helping Daddy put together a new bouncy seat for Juliet.  His forte is really more demolition, not construction, but that didn't stop him from jumping in on the action.

No Nap Mayhem

This is what happens when Matty doesn't nap during his scheduled nap time--he takes the opportunity to make his room a mess! (You will notice his pillow and sheet on the floor, along with lots of books, baskets, etc.)
