Juliet tried on her new hat.  Her favorite part was taking the hat off.  I think we are going to spend a lot of time playing this game over the summer...

Juliet had a great time opening presents (what's not to love?).  She even enjoyed "reading" the cards.  Strange, but true:  Mommy, Aunt Jenny, and Aunt Susie all bought the exact same card for Juliet--nature or nuture at work?

Juliet 1 Year Check Up **Milestone Alert**

Juliet just had her 1 year check up and the stats are in!

Height:  28 in (25th%)

Weight:  18 lb (10th%)

She is getting huge!  Everything is looking great and she is developing well :-) Goodbye formula, hello whole milk!

Let Them Eat Cake!

Juliet had a blast celebrating her first birthday--she was all smiles!  Here she is getting her first piece of birthday cake!

Birthday Cake

Juliet's 1st birthday cake -- a white cake with Swiss buttercream frosting.  18 egg whites and 10 sticks of butter --wow!  It's a pink number 1 with her name in blocks (rice crispie treats)

Coloring Easter Eggs

The time honored tradition of coloring Easter eggs following by a lunch of kielbasa and rye bread...yum!

Matty was very enthusiastic this year and was following our directions, but with a little too much force.  He managed to crack about 3 or 4 eggs before we were able to achieve the "gently place the egg in the dye" direction :-)  It was fun.  Even Juliet tried to eat an egg!

Easter Morning

I have quite a back up of pics and silliness here at the Land of Blue Ducks.  Here we are on Easter morning--finding the eggs the Easter Bunny left for Matty and Juliet!

Happy Birthday: Juliet's 1st Year

It's hard to believe how different Juliet looks from when she was born at 3:38am last year to this year.  I guess adding 12 lbs and lots of personality will do that to a person :-)
