Girl Vs Food

How is it already time for Juliet to start solid food?  Well, it's not quite "solid" yet, but it's a start.  Bring on the rice cereal!  Juliet was a little unsure at first, but I think she is starting to enjoy it.  A few more days of cereal and then we get to explore the world of yellow and orange fruits and veggies...mmmm!

Hurricane

Well, Hurricane Irene came through over the weekend and managed to cause lots of flooding and power outages.  We were without power for 24 hours, which I guess isn't terrible considering there are still lots of people without power (including Matty and Juliet's cousins).  The basement flooded and now the water heater isn't working, but thankfully nothing that can't be fixed.

Lounging Around

Juliet is getting close to sitting up.  It's hard to believe how strong she has gotten in just 4 months.  She just wants to start running around with her brother already! :-)

Look at us Grow!

Ready to hit the sand and waves-- thought it would be fun to revisit the same picture of Matty and Juliet at the beach that we took at the beginning of the summer.  You can see that Matty has a nice tan going on and both have much longer hair!  Haircut time??-

County Fair

We took the kiddos to the County Fair and Matty loved it!  (Juliet was very good, but I'm not sure she really cared that we were at the fair).  From the second we walked in, Matty begged us to go on the rides.  Every 30 seconds -- "Go on rides?  Go on rides?"  We let him pick out the rides that he wanted to go on and he practically ran past the operator to get a prime spot.  Once the ride started, he looked very serious and you couldn't tell if he was enjoying it or hating it.  Then, he went on the boat ride.  I think you can tell what he thought.  But, once he got off this ride, he was ready to get right back on another one...

****Juliet MILESTONE ALERT****

**JULIET 4 MONTH MILESTONE ALERT**

The numbers are in for Juliet's 4 month weigh-in:

Weight:  10 lb 13 oz

Height:  22 1/4 inches

For both height and weight, she is holding on strong to the 5th percentile!  It's hard to believe that she's that far down on the growth curve, since she looks so huge now.  She even has some fat rolls now! 

In addition to her monstrous height and weight, we were given the green light to start introducing some rice cereal and other solids, which means there will sure to be some cute pictures coming up. 

Juliet is all smiles (and even some giggles) lately and loves playing, kicking, and standing to get stronger.

Who Dressed You?

Matty and Brendan came downstairs at the shore house dressed in the same shirt--guess their mommies were on the same wavelength when they were packing!  It's the shirt Pop brought back from Italy from the American Embassy in Rome.

Play Time

I love these polka dot shorts.  Anyways, Juliet loves playing on her playmat and reaching for things. The biggest problem is that Matty ALWAYS wants in on the action.  The only reason he isn't right next to her in this picture is because he is taking a nap!

Head up!

Juliet is excellent at holding her head up!  She's developed really strong neck muscles and loves showing off.  I think she has gotten so big, but she must still look a little small to strangers.  I had someone watch me hold Juliet and ask me "Didn't the doctor tell you that you have to support her head?".  Not any more!  :-)

What is going on?

Matty is always interested in what Juliet is doing.  Usually he is being a great big brother, but sometimes I think he may be up to no good.  I think Juliet suspects that, too...

Pretty Lady

Juliet is such a cutie-pie!  How are we ever going to say no to this? :-)

Size Order

Comparatively Speaking

Who do they look like?  Here is Matty at 3 months old and Juliet at 3 months old.  Do you think they look alike?  Both are chubby, for sure.  I think there is a sibling resemblance, but they do look different, too...
