Soccer Superstar

Matty started soccer this fall in the 4 year old Superstar program. Two practices in and he loves it!  Hooray!  At today's scrimmage he scored 2 goals right off the bat--1 for his team and 1 for the other team.  :-)  He did really well hustling after the ball and seemed to really be enjoying himself.

First Day of School 2013

Everyone is in preschool this year!  Matty is in the Pre-K4 (4 year olds) class and Juliet is in the Pre-K2 (2 year olds) class. 

Matty is adjusting great and seems to be having a really excellent start to the school year.  Miss Juliet is slightly unamused that she is now attending school.  (She is fine after the initial drop off and loves visiting the bathroom anytime she wants to get out of class.  The second day she went to the bathroom 10 times.  Ha.  Yeah for potty training?)    If we can get her to stop crying at drop off, Mommy will start getting a celebratory pumpkin spice latte at Starbucks instead of a comforting pumpkin spice latte at Starbucks.

Kids Say the Darndest Things...

It's always interesting to hear what Matty and Juliet come up with in the course of a conversation.  Here are some of the best quotes from this past week:

Matty:  "I don't think I am available to go to school tomorrow."

Juliet:  <while going to school on her 2nd day, not wanting to stay without Mommy>  "YOU need me, Mommy!!" 

Daddy:  "I haven't recouped that investment yet."
Matty:  "Watch your mouth, Daddy!"
Daddy:  <puzzled look...followed by recognition>  "Did you think I said 'repooped'?"
Matty:  "Yes!"  <fits of giggles>

Who Needs Toys?

Sometimes the best toys are not actual "toys" at all.  Matty and Juliet have the best time playing with the most random things.  Here, Juliet is looking like a damsel in distress after she has wrapped a baby changing mat around herself and is rolling around the ground. 

 Here, Matty has popped the bubble wrap packing materials from our latest amazon purchase and used it to turn himself into a ninja.
